Great emotions and crazy party on the Opening Ceremony of the World Rowing under 23 Championships

 

The World Rowing under 23 Championships started with an emotional ceremony at the Ancient Theater of Plovdiv.

854 rowers from 54 countries, divided into 326 boats are part of the competition. Most of them made a crazy party during the opening ceremony, attended by the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asen Markov, the Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv Georgi Tityukov, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Ivan Popov, the Chairman of BF Rowing Svilen Neykov, The Executive Board of the International Rowing Federation (FISA), Pratrik Rombau, and many representatives of the local government.

Bernd Schumacher arrived for the World Rowing under 23 Championships in Plovdiv

The technical delegate of the World Rowing Federation FISA Bernd Schumacher is already in Plovdiv and, together with the FISA Technical Director Svetla Otsetova and the chairman of the Organizing Committee Ivan Popov , discussed the readiness of the Rowing Channel for the upcoming World Rowing under 23 Championships that will take place from 19th to 23rd of July.

"I want to express a profound thank you to the Plovdiv Municipality, which has a great merit Plovdiv to host such big competitions. Also, I want to thank to the Rowing Federation for the financial support. In 2017 we have 2017 accredited souls from 57 countries. 856 competitors with 326 Boats will take part in the competition. " – said the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Ivan Popov.
