Plovdiv will be host of the World Rowing under 23 championships that will take place from 19th to 23rd of July

"I want to express a profound thank you to the Plovdiv Municipality, which has a great merit Plovdiv to host such big competitions. Also, I want to thank to the Rowing Federation for the financial support. In 2017 we have 2017 accredited souls from 57 countries. 856 competitors with 326 Boats will take part in the competition. " – said the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Ivan Popov.

"This big competition will be an important test for the even bigger World Championship in 2018. Plovdiv is always ready to accept championships of this rank," added Popov. He also said that Plovdiv will host the World Cup in 2019 and the major championship in 2020, which is  for adolescents, men and women under 23 years and men and women in non Olympic isciplines.

"We defended our candidacy in Lucerne on Monday. Now we are expecting the FISA Congress in October to win these championships," Popov said.

The opening of the World Rowing under 23 championships is on July 18 at 19:00 at the Ancient Theater.
